As soon as I seen the opening scene to this video is was apparent that this was going to be a good video, visually, if not a good one in content and song quality. It delivered completely. Money Mills, teamed up with BST to make "Trust No Nigga" a hot song and with the help of Craig Noon and J. Boone, a hot video.
Its a grimey look at the the game through an HD lens as the video unfolds from a phone call recieved during a dice game, to hitting the streets of Louisville, to ultimately walking away from a bad deal from an untrustworthy connect. The hook is catchy but street and the lyrics are hard. Make sure you share this video after checking it out.

With "reality" entertainment invading our lives more each day and people finally realizing that what you see is not even half true, one debate still remains. IS IT OK TO LIE IN HIP HOP MUSIC? Not just exaggerate your money a little bit, I'm talking full on lies here. Is it ok to say you have mansions on the east and west coasts and that you keep a million dollars in the glovebox? Is it acceptable to say that you have 10 kilos in the trunk... on your slow day? What about rapping about being in the clubs and you NEVER go out? Somewhere down the line we have accepted this phenomenom but we still have people divided on the issue.
Personally I think that the music business itself is just that... a business. There is a difference between the love of the craft and the pursuit of success. I am not really drawn directly to flamboyant talk in a rhyme but I'm not really turned off by it either. It all has its place. If you want to say that you kill 10 niggas before you even eat your Rice Krispies in the morning, MORE POWER TO YOU. If thats how you want to get down on the mic, who am I to tell you to stop? I think that hip hop fans have been spoiled in the music that they always thought was "real". The only reality that people are finding out now is that some of your favorite rappers don't really live the lives they rap about. Hell, some of them don't even write all their own rhymes! You can't really hate the game can you? The risk of lying and being exposed in the industry comes down to what what $en$e.
I notice that local rappers to the same thing also but the risk is very great. They boast and "fake it til they make it" all day long. The problem is . . . . they don't make it. Now the faking has to be maintained right? Or what about rapping that your a goon, and that you run with goons? If you get tested after the show, you may have to prove your lyrics, but that is not really the focus here. Is it still entertaining to know a rapper is lying on the mic than it is to know he's really the guy he says he is? I wonder how the rest of you feel.
Ok! Last night on Dope16 Radio (via 502fm.com) we got a chance to holla at Twanee Baby. Dude is from Louisville, KY but is definitely making some moves out in ATL right now. Doing film production/editing, and balancing that with making strides in the Music game, Twanee is setting himself up for opportunities that many wouldn't even know what to do with. He just wrapped of doing some work on a Wacka Flocka video that will debut on Worldstarhiphop.com. Did I mention that the man also works for NEW ERA?. Yea the hat company. The hustle is strong in this one!
Twanee is promoting his next project for release entitled, “Love, Sex, & Beats”. He's calling this a mixtape/album release and plans on showcasing his originality all over this project. Rapping, singing hooks, and even producing some of the music himself, Twanee Baby is showing his hip hop and musical chops on this. You will have to wait just a little bit longer to see release date on this one. The project is very close to completion and Twanee is proud to have put together a project that is HIS creation and represents what he feels his music should sound like.
One of the fist songs released off the mixtape/album is "Welcome to Kenf@*ky". Its an olde to hip hop style of track that also features KY native rapper Jeff Johnson. The two got together to shoot a video for the single (directed and edited by Suban Dey ). The video is definitely hot and high quality. Check it out and sit tight as “Love, Sex, & Beats” will be on the way soon.
Wow. This has got to be one of the best mixtapes to come out of KY this year or any other year. Step into the Bad Side: Meet the Bad Guy hosted by DJ Empty Beats and featuring Bricks Da Franchise is definitely packed wtih rap swag, fierce lyrics, and banging tracks. KY hip hop has another feather in its hat with this one. Bricks Da Franchise has yet to disappoint his listeners and he always shows up big on his mixtapes. Make sure to check out the first single from Bricks in a while, " Fooly Wayne". That track just may do some nice numbers in the coming months. If you are anywhere in KY and come across that wrapped van with Bricks' mug on the side, stop them and ask for your free copy of this mixtape.
Seriously, when I first seen these pics , I WAS THINKING IT WAS FAKE. Its very real that 50 Cent is making a crazy sacrifice and putting in a lot of time in order to pursue an acting career. 3 hours of cardio and a 9 week liquid protein diet, led to a 54 pound drop in weight to play a cancer patient in a movie....WOW. 214 pound man, reduced to 160 pounds. The movie in title "Things Fall Apart" , and Curtis Jackson (50 cent) himself is a co-producers of the film.
I thought about this all day. My thoughts about this are mixed. I hope the man gets some serious money for this role and that he ACTUALLY DOES A GOOD JOB IN THE ROLE. It would be crazy to go through all of that just to suck at the acting part. I think that 50 takes everything serious and is very strategic, so hopefully this will work out for dude.
I wonder if this will somehow inspire other artists on the local levels to dig deep and make some sacrifices for their careers or goals. Maybe a few artists need to take some time and learn parts of the craft or the business behind it. It would be nice if some would take 9 weeks off to practice getting better at making music, in areas that they know they have weakness. Or maybe just take some time to improve or ALTER their image like Curtis Jackson did here. WOW again.
One thing is definitely for sure. He is not winning over the ladies with this look. My facebook profile, and comments around the net, signify a general dislike of this new look. Let's face it though. He's playing the role of someone who has CANCER! What should he look like people? Those muscles will probably comeback leaner when this is all over. Obviously he has had the discipline to manipulate his physique in the past, so let's hope we see the old 50 again soon.
So the dust has settled after a couple months of teaser statuses from former b96.5 dj, DJ E Feezy. Louisville once again has a choice on the dial for hip hop music. After listening to the the station for the last few weeks, one thing is definitely clear. A choice was long overdue. Its nice to hear current music mixed in with music from the one of the best eras of hip hop (the 90's). The rotation is expected to contain the same "hot" songs that are on the charts but also a mixture of songs that got us to this point. I have friends and associates at b96.5 but i must be honest when i say that 104.3 is filling a void for myself and many others.
The only knock I would have on the new Station would be that their signal is a lil weak at times, which sometimes puts a damper on the listening experience. But honestly, if you REALLY want to hear a song , you will listen to it with a broken speaker and the windows down on the expressway just to hear your favorite verse. Many people have mentioned the drawback but admit they overlook it. As my "sources" have told me, the Los Angelos owner of the station, René Moore (of the 80's duo Rene and Angela), has matters under control.
Personalities such as Shawn Blaze and Rickey Smiley are holding the station down during their respective slots while many people have demanded that DJ E Feezy returns to the airwaves with his syndicated " Grind Time Radio" . He didn't let them wait for too long. I assumed with the announcement made on twitter and Facebook that he has returned, will give the station a nice boost in the arm as many fans can finally hear the Cleveland born DJ's mixshow once again. While he's been making business moves with other big-time Dj's such as DJ Enuff and DJ Khaled, haters and fans alike have been patiently waiting for the Dj's next move, especially since his recent jump to Miami came with news that he would return to Louisville. Many local artists are definitely wondering if this new station will be open to playing more of their music than b96.5 has in the past. Only time will tell about that one.
The question remains out there thought. Is 104.3 here to stay for good? I personally hope so. When I do listen to the radio, I am using switching between a few numbers on the dial, as I assume most people do. Admittantly I have stopped on "The Beat" a lil bit longer to see what's going on there. The jury is still out but it seems as though the outcome will be good. Can E Feezy stay on top with a new home on the dial? I wonder what everyone out there thinks.
Whewwww! Such a breath of fresh air! I'm really digging the flow and the atmosphere created by the video. Jalin Roze is showing cats how to put their money where their mouth is, and came up with this gem. Follow the staccato flow as dude is just breezing through his day and making you respect the flow on this one. The HD visuals by Visual Space Media, are definitely hot. We hope to soon catch up with dude and chop it up , but our meter is running....TAXI !!!!!!
